Ok, tonite I was racing a bmw z4 in my turbo d15b civic and everything was fine shifting from 1-2,2-3, but then shifting 3-4th gear the oil light comes on so i immediately pull into the nearest gas station and turn off the car and pop the hood, i let the car sit for like 10 mins then i checked the oil and the oil was above the highest mark on the dipstick. I had just changed my oil like 3 days ago and i put in 3 1/2 quarts. Thinking that was too much oil now. When i was driving it back home i would hear some kind of noise, dont know what. i popped the hood when i got home and it sounds like its coming from the valvetrain but i could be wrong. Anyone know what I should do and am I fucked or what. Just got into college and dont have much money and this is my only transportation to and from school.

also i took off the oil filler cap and i didnt see any oil or no oil splashed out as it normally would if the car was running. This mean the sending unit is the cause of this?

before this happedn my car would idle really low like 600-700 rpms like it was going to shut off. Hope this helps anyone who might know why its doing this

also tried this, unscrewed the oil feed line going to the turbo and started the car, the idea was to see if any oil would come out of the feed line and nothing did, does this mean that the oil pressure sensor is bad, and the feed line was completely dry.

your oil is there in the pan, but you got faulty oil pump?

the oil pump probably took a crap on you... if thats teh case then your turbo is probably done for, as well as the main bearings and mostlike the cam caps are pretty scarred

drove it home which was 5 mins away at 35-40 mph at the fastest. hope everything is ok and all ill need is a new pump

was the oil light on that whole time you drove home? 5 seconds is too long let alone 5 minutes with no pressure

yea it was on while i was driving home. so if i was to replace the oil pump and it runs what else would i have to worry about?

maybe the pickup fell off or got clogged up.

Nasty shiot! Yes...please drop that oil pan and see if the oil pickup is clogged or that the oil pump is done for. I am sorry to hear such a horror story, but you might need to swap engines 1 weekend really soon. Take some pics and show us.

100 bucks says all the bearings are gone, oil pump is sdestroyed and now you need a new turbo and the head is fucked... first rule of owning a turbo honda.... when the oil light comes on shut if of then and there....

what sort of crank pulley do you have?

Hybridhatch88 blew his boosted b16a2 last month due to oil pump problems due to CTR Crank pully . We just got his car back running. Had to put a new motor in it. The B16a2 was gone.. EVERYTHING. The turbo is still good though. RUns great.

You should pull your valve cover off and check the cams, drop the oil pan and look for melt. Your VERY lucky if it didnt mess something up.

After all is said and done when you have fixed everything, invest in an oil pressure gauge. So that way you can monitor it constantly and know before something is messed up. The factory light only comes on when it gets really low. But with the gauge you will know ahead of time.

well once i pull the pan off i will instantly know if somethings not right or will i have to inspect for a while and look around?

pulley i have is an unorthadox light weight pulley, also ill pull off the valve cover and see if i see anything odd. i really hope i got lucky and didnt expletive up the motor. the good thing is it is a single cam (d15b).

well if the pick-up tube fell off you will know for sure. take it off to check if its clogged. im not so sure you can know if the pump is back by just looking you need to take it off and check.

so could there be a possiblity that the pickup just got clogged since i had wayyyyy too much oil (half a quart too much).

i really hope the pump is just clogged, i did change my oil like 2-3 days before this happend. are pumps getting clogged happen normally with turbo cars or what?

Why don't you get under your car and find out? I doubt the pickup would get clogged unless there's something in your oil to clog it, and you said you changed your oil a few days ago. I'd have to say that it's probably the oil pump, which could have been damaged by the non-dampening pulley. Good luck with the troubleshooting, hopefully you can get away with just replacing the oil pump.

o i didnt see where you had said you had the unorthodox pulley. thats your probelm right there, from what ive read the stock pulley has harmonic dampening and the unorthodox doesnt so the oil pump is probably completely broken along with your motor.

yup excessive harmonics/vibrations caused your oil pump gear to beasically shatter.... congrats, now you need a whole new motor, head and turbo *aplause*

wtf were you thinking driving your car for like 10 minutes when the oil light was on? should have pulled over and gotten it towed
