Please Help!! Oil feed on Prelude SH
I'm currently installing my custom turbo kit on my 97' SH and am at the point where I need to run the oil feed. After looking in my helms manual, it says to take the atts out to get to it.
Someone PLEASE tell me there's another way. Thanks.

the oil pressure sender on the back of the block... tee off of it.
or you could buy a sandwich plate the goes between the oil filter and block, a better method imo

Re: Please Help!! Oil feed on Prelude SH (wantboost)
This is an SH model though.. The oil pressure sender and oil filter are in different spots than a normal h22. It's being blocked by the stupid atts unit.
I really wish I would have bought a base model to begin with.

Re: Please Help!! Oil feed on Prelude SH (bubs)
Man, I am turboing my buddys 97 SH aswell right now, I absolutly hate this car. SH is the biggest pain. We were going to just do timing belt, clutch, flywheel inside the car but after seeing that ATTS unit we desided just to pull the motor. he bought a venom intake manifold for it and yeah only way to mount a oil filter was to use a RSX one but he has to take the intake manifold off every time he wants to change the filter as there is no room, so now there deffinitally wont be enough room for a sandwich oil feed now. good thing you made this post because I was gonna wait until everything was back together and in the car before I put the oil feed on - I did notice that when I was trying to get a filter on it that I didnt see a pressure sender, just the knock. ughh i like my B series
to take the ATTS out is actually fairly easy, just some wires, 2 oil lines, axle, 4 bolts and then some stupid ring thing needs to be knocked off that comes out of the tranny
good look, if you have any pictures please e-mail them to me Kyle.McCombs@***.net as I havent started mounting the turbo junk yet

easier said then done, better off buying a base model swap and tossing that in IMO

Re: Please Help!! Oil feed on Prelude SH (N20civicB18)
Anyone know if something like this might work?
http://www.greddy.com/prod_oil_block_adapter.htm
From reading the helms, it seems like taking the atts out is a hassle, but I'll do it if I have to. Just looking at my other options first.
Edit: after looking at that again, it looks like it won't work.. I thought it screwed on over the existing oil filter adapter.

I didnt think taking the ATTS out was that bad but I had the engine already out of the car and im a mechanic (side job) so I have a little more tolerances for stuff like this then most people. But yeah that is alot of work just to get some oil, cant you tap off the oil pump or somthing (I heard something like that on B series before, is it possibly on H series or was i just dreaming that up?) anyways that adapter may fit with the stock intake manifold, with the venom there is no way it will.

Re: Please Help!! Oil feed on Prelude SH (N20civicB18)
You can get an oil source off the cylinder head... I just put a turbo kit on my sh and I used this same port. I get around 10-15psi at idle and I approx 40-50psi at highway speeds. I know a few other people running the same setup without any problems...
Most people say not to go off the cyl head because the psi is too low when not in vtec but I think this port is specific to H22's and is located on the cyl head before the vtec solenoid so it provides 'normal' oil psi... bseries heads dont have this port.
I will get a pic up tomorrow... your going to need a few fittings but it works great.
ATTS sucks, if you're going to run any kind of engine management which you should it's going to be disabled anyway... I'm considering removing it entirely...
Edit: Also, the oil port people usually tee off of on the back of the block is relocated on the SH along with the Oil filter, it's next to the oil filter by the intake manifold... look for the plug.

Re: Please Help!! Oil feed on Prelude SH (93preludes)

I would love some more information/pics on this if you've got it.

Is this the port you're referring to 93preludes? The helms manual shows that you can hook an oil pressure gauge to it to test the vtec solenoid.

Re: Please Help!! Oil feed on Prelude SH (bubs)
what are you planning on useing for engine management?
I know when i had my 99 SH with the JRSC, i put a oil filter relocation kit to get the oil filter to someplace where i could easily cahnge it. But there is jack **** available for tuning a SH car if you want to keep the ATTS. Killing it is an option, if you have the patience to go through all that. I just sold the car and said funk it.

I'm sure everyone will cringe, but I'm using an FMU/inline pump setup to run about 6 lbs. of boost. Down the road I may change to something else.
