piping against radiator hose
Searched and found nothing.
Im in the process of installing my turbo kit and the charge pipe is up against the radiator hose, because I have a half radiator. I was wondering if this is going to cause less power from heating up the air in the intercooler piping? Im looking for a way to pull the piping to the side a little, but I was just curious if it even makes a difference.
Thanks
PICTURES
The top hose it really close to, but im not really worried about that.
Lower Radiator hose
Me holding it away from the piping, could I zip tie it out to the side like that or would it eventually cut through the hose?

Re: piping against radiator hose
you can just use heat reflective tape on the rad hose if it bugs you, i could only see that being an issue if your have your IAT sensor in the same location.

Re: piping against radiator hose
i just cant see that happening... If that was the case you would think the ignition wires resting on the valve cover would have the same effect (for the guys not running plug wire covers.)

plug wires and the valve cover move in the same motion... however one end of your rad hose stays fixed while the other moves with the engine, this causes a back and forth motion, like a saw, and it will eventually rub a hole on it....btw I have seen plug wires have holes rub in the insulation, the manufacturer puts the plug wire holders on there for a reason.....but like the guy above said, sometimes you can just trim a 1/4 or so of hose off and it gives it plenty of clearance

Re: piping against radiator hose
i ran my car with the piping rubbing the hose and i never had a problem. As far as power robbing i doubt it would make a huge difference since your engine bay is just as hot anyway. Just be sure that you dont have a clamp rubbing the hose as that will definently cause a hole
