pinging with hondata stage 2
i have a 92 prelude with a 98 h22a4 in it and i have a p28(no knock sensor) with hondata's stage 2 system and they "type s" programming on it. i have the ignition set at the stock position and i run 92 octane and i still get ping in 5th at moderate loads under 3000rpm, also i am running 240 cc injectors and the stock size for that engine is 290cc, could this have any thing to do with my problems? the car just doesn't seem to be making as much power as it should with the mods i have done to it. im struggling to beat a late model integra LS. wtf

of course the small injector size is the problem. a program thats meant for 290s and you're running 240s? dont you think you might be running lean?

Hondatas are meant to be tuned. Go to an authorized Hondata dealer to get tuned properly.

well yes i know i am running lean, but that is only in the upper reaches of the rpm band. and running lean by itself will not cause ping and im more concerned about the ping at this point than the power loss (eventhough it is very important).im thinking the injectors i have now are running at max duty cycle at about 7000rpm and im not going over 6500 at the time. redline is 7600 for the engine.

If you are running an injector that's ~20% smaller than stock, you are running lean everywhere. You either need to up the fuel pressure to compensate or do it right and have the program written around your engine parameters.
