Re: Pics of your oil pan (redsled00)
All these turbo people and nobody is returning oil, I highly doubt that, I've seen a couple posts before showing proper areas to tap it and some examples that were too low. I believe it's the higher the better right? Because if it was low you would have the same height of oil in the line all the time as there is in the pan.

Re: Pics of your oil pan (QCKGSR)
i thought if too high it might be obstructed by the baffle or something like that. the windage tray i mean... i dunno one of those things.
and someone posted that hot oil shouldnt hit the crank upon entry so that may be bad. i dunno. any can clarify?

Re: Pics of your oil pan (B18EG6)
Good Post!
has anyone ever had a problem with the fitting on the oil pan(assuming it's in the middle of the pan) getting in the way of your downpipe? I've been through 3 pans trying to get the damn thing lined up....is it better to be tapped on the deep side or the shallow side?

Re: Pics of your oil pan (5thgencivic)
How are you guys finding the bolt on flange style ones are as far as leakage? I just did a weld on one and it has a pin hole that gets the front of the pan a little oily. I think I'll braze the hole shut or use some high temp RTV.
Do you use a gasket w/ RTV or just RTV to seal it? BAcking plate or washers?
thanks
