Default Peakboost FTW AC manifold oil return routing

Hello-

Ken from peakboost is at SEMA so I figured I would get some opinions here until he returned.

I used to have a DRAG kit, and the location on the oil pan was for my previous setup. I recently got the FTW AC setup and am trying to figure out the best return setup. Here are some pictures to help illustrate some things:

Here is a picture showing the clearance between the DP and the block. I was thinking that moving the fitting closer to the transmission might help.

Anyone out there that has this setup? How did you run your return?

Thanks in advance-

Sebastian

it looks like you can just get a 90 degree AN fitting and be fine

I'd try to run a 45. The 90 would cause the oil to puddle up.

Run it in front of the downpipe? Thats how I have it setup. It will be much cooler(temp) for the lines anyway, to be in front rather then behind the downpipe. -=P (when moving that is.) Works for me and many others!

90* will be fine CONTRARY to what others think, i did the same thing NEVER an issue. The 90* actually will help prevent oil front backing up the return line when under hard braking. Wrap the DP in heat protective tape and they make a heat protective flexable tube in 3ft lengths you can cut down and feed the oil return line through. Cooler temps for everyone!! YAAAY

Do a 90º at a 45º angle to the line.

yeah Wastegate is mounted wrong.

I would run your drain line in front of the down pipe and use either a straight or 45* fitting.... From the looks of the pics it doesn’t matter if you relocated the drain hole you would still run into problems of the down pipe being very close to drain line.

I dont know if that would work very well - the second picture shows the DP near its normal bolted on position... and already the lowest point on the DP is lower than the oil pan Do you have any pictures?

Yeh, I had thouhgt of that... it would have been another question in the thread if someone didnt tell me already Thanks Jeff.

LOL I didnt even look to check the WG - I just wanted to see if it fit GOOD EYES!

I am ordering some fittings soon, I will get another bung, a cap, and a 90* to see how it fits. More pictures to come!

lol yeh yeh yeh.. its fixed now

Does anyone have any pictures of their setups? I think I am going to try the 'behind the downpipe' setup... but I am still open to suggestions. It seems as if the front of downpipe route might leave the lowest spot too far down.

Why try to go "behind the down pipe?" from the looks of it you have plenty of line to go in front of the down pipe.

If your worried about a dip in the line then run a 45* fitting facing up or at a angle to where it wont have a dip in it.

I went in front of the DP with a 45 going into the pan. I won't post a pic cause The only pic I have is laying on the ground under the car and its from a wierd angle. Every time I post it everyone keeps trying to bitch cause it looks wierd from that angle

I used firesleeve around the oil return and header wrap on the DP to make sure they wouldn't make each other too hot or rub against each other.

When everyone is saying go around the dp, they do not mean from below, they literally mean in front of it, still making the oil return slope downward to the pan.
