Default Painting Engine Components? Too Hot with turbo?

Hey all,

You see these people in mags that have thier valve covers body-color matched. I dont understand hwo they can do that, becuase even without turbo, the valve cover temps are pretty damn high.

Now add turbo into the equation, and how the heck does the paint stay? I am interested in painting some of my engine components, but they dont make a high temp paint in the color I want, and I hope to have the turbo on the car by this coming spring.

Does anyone know what other options there are? Am I going to have to have it powder coated? Is there a way to mix in some kinda high temp additive to normal paint?

i Just had problems with the clear coat cracking on the hood on my 2000 si due to the heat from the turbo. but the dealership repainted it via warenty and now i have a cf hood. as for the engine bay, i dunno. it gets super hot

i used Harley Davidson crinkle paint with no ill effects with a coat of high temp paint.

i still need to sand the paint off the letters, and i shot this in the dark. Its been a week now and I haven't had any problems.

You could make your own heat shield using some sheet metal from a hardware store cause that's all the greddy heat shield is.
