p30 ecu with b18c1 gsr
im about to turbo my 96 gsr but i need to convert to obd1 first so i can tune. anyways i was just wondering if a p30 out of a dohc del sol would work with the gsr if i get it dyno tuned? if not what ecu should i use? just wondering about the p30 cuz ive got one laying around.

you can chip any obd1 ecu..no matter if its sohc or dohc/ or vtec or non vtec it all can be changed and formatted for your application

cool so that means the p30 should work fine with my gsr? ive got it already so i was hoping it would work so i didnt have to buy a new ecu. thanks for the info.

if you have the stock GSR intake manifold then you should have an OBD1 P72. (the P72 has the output for the IAB, P30 does not)
if you dropped in a different intake mani then the tuned P30 will work fine.

well yes i do have the stock mani on it but i dont have the iab wired up anyways. cool so i should have no problems with a tuned p30. what do you guys recomend for a tune(what program) i dont really have the $ for hondata right now. ill be running rc440 injectors with the turbo set to about 8-9 psi.

eh ive done it, it was a paint in the ***, but its possible. it just have smaller surface mount reistors and capacitors, and the logic chip is also surface mount

bump because i have this setup and i have a funky idle only when i throw in the virgin jdm p30. It revs up and down from 1100 to 1500 when i come to a stop after being warmed up and then it goes away until the next stop. When i plug in my normal obd1 p72 ecu it idles perfect at 850 and I have clean tb and im gaskets and no leaks, and clean iacvs and everything. It only does this when i plug in the jdm p30 to my obd1 b18c1 w/ s2 IM
