overheating on when boosting

I have a max-rev kit on a integra with a/c. When every I start boosting for 30 sec it starts to overheat to 3/4 of the gauge. I turn on the heater to cool it down to half way.

The problem is it overheats all the time. Can it be the intercooler not letting the air flow the raiditor? Or The turbo is to close to the raiditor? or What raiditor should i get that would fit the best and is the thickest? I have a stock raiditor on it and I looking to ditch that to get better cooling.

Are you IN boost for 30 secs straight?

Sounds like you must have a little bit of air in the cooling system. Try bleeding thr colling system.

i tried bleeding it already, and for the boosting maybe around 15 sec it does not overheat when it not boosting. If I drive it lightly nothing over 4k it takes about 30min to start rasising or going up a hill.

You are having the same problem that I am going through. You need to get a better radiator. If you have to turn on your heater to get the temp to cool down that is the problem.

just thought of something else.

fell the upper an lower rad hoses. if one is noticeably cooler your thermostat is borked. buy a new one.

mine died and i used the heater trick too. didnt mean my rad had crapped out.

also you have a full size teg rad so your cooling should be even better than mine.

Re: overheating on when boosting (Turbo E 604)

thank for the help I am going to check out the themostat.

I was thinking raiditor but I know someone with a civic with similar setup and does not overheat with stock raiditor and A/C. The difference is the intercooler his fins are bigger so more air pass to the raiditor and it on the tranny side without the manifold next to it.

is your coolant overflow tank pushing coolant out or filling up all the way? I have the same problem and i believe its my headgasket https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

there are wraps/covers for turbines, but you'll probaly better making your own out of aluminum sheet metal. i've been talking about it for some time, my plan is to use wastegate bolts for support.. just cut around wastegate piping and bent it so it covers everything. but i don't think this will help with your current overheating issues. it would just lower overall engine bay temps

runnign too lean and causing heating issues???
