Default Overdue Props To First State Motorsports

Just wanted to share- it's REALLY hard to find "Turbo Honda" people here on the east coast.

First State Motorsports is a good group of "car guys".. they live, breath and eat in their shop. Good quality work.

Here are some pics of the downpipe they did for me. Everything wrapped, coated, added an extra O2 bung. V-band clamp. All 3" Stainless.

Now if I could just stop running over curbs...

Nice work!

That's all fine and dandy, I just don't understand why people would heat wrap stainless piping, unless they don't care about longevity. The heat wrap will kill the stainless.

Function over form. Were is the proof that the wrap will decrease the strength or longevity of SS>

In this case it's form over function. It's common knowledge that heat breaks down metal. Stainless has the ability to keep the heat inside much better than mild steel, so heatwrap is definitely not needed. Stainless piping can easily handle extreme heat, but only if the outside of the pipe is allowed to dissipate some of the heat. If you trap the heat in with heat barrier tape, you don't allow any dissipation and the stainless will break down.

You want proof? Ask any Nascar team why they don't wrap their headers anymore...they got tired of spending thousands on new headers after every race.

Dan & Josh are both stand up guys. If you make it in my sig, you must be the ****.

They really go out of their way to make sure the customer is satisfied, and I never hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for that kind of service and quality work.

if you hooked the boost controller to the top port then the vacuum on the top and botom of the wastgate would be equal and it would not open very well.
