You dumbass...it all depends on the boost level, and what equipment you're running. For 1500, you get a new greddy kit, but you still need to get a blowoff valve and intercooler separately. Now, for less than 200whp you could simply run a DSM blowoff valve and intercooler, which would only cost about 100 bucks combined. Up the boost to 10 psi, and you'll be hitting 200whp on stock internals, with proper tuning of course.

Junkyard kits are for cheap bastards -> Greddy is great for beginners

The turbo maxes out at 250-260whp, but for a daily driver I'd suggest keeping the boost below 10 psi for traction issues.

i was thinking of the greddy kit with a small fmic and a dsm bov. running 6psi daily and bumping up to 9 or 10 when needed. but i have no idea what the power output would be. im looking for somehwere around 190-210 to the wheels.
if i pieced together the junkyad kit i would loosely base it on the greddy kit. (mitsu turbo etc.)
i was also thinking of doing some headwork (cam,VS,retainers, and valves) nd spraying a 60 shot. seems more reliable to me for some reason. help me make up my mind.

- at 9-10 psi, you'll be making 190-210whp, depending on tuning equipment, etc.
- headwork isn't necessary if you're running the greddy kit, since it maxes out at 250whp. Most guys are making up to 300whp on stock heads.
- nitrous isn't necessary either. the Greddy 15G spools at 2700rpm

no no no..... i wasnt thinking of doing the headwork and nitrous with the greddy kit. its either the greddy kit, junkyard kit, OR the headwork and nitrous. what do you suggest?? also, you said if he tuning equip is right? what would you recomend for that amount of boost? is the blue box enough or would i need something else? would the AFC hack work?

the blue box would be fine for running 6 or 7 psi. If you were going to up it to 10 like you said it would be best to have a standalone, so that you can tune at that psi level to make the most power safely.

Don't choose nitrous and headwork over a turbo ever. A turbo is like a bottle of juice that never runs out

I personally (and many will disagree) think nitrous should stick to the track. Reason being, every time you want to shoot, you have to "plan" on it... i.e. open the valve in the trunk before you leave (unless you have a remote), flip the switch, fill the bottle, yada yada yada... It sounds like that would get old real fast.
With a turbo, it's much easier; You want to go faster? Hit the pedal a little more. The greddy kit is an excellent beginners choice, and it does have some good potential. 250whp in a honda is very quick, beleive you me.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

from what i understand (and have read) the new kit has a 19t and was desinged for the 96-00 sohc civics.
this turbo is supposed to be better then the previous 15g. how much more efficiant? i cant get a compressor map for it..
does anyone know how much more hp the new kit is supposed to make?
i have read 300hp ~ 17ish psi?

if you are lookin for 210whp, get the greddy kit
