OT: WHo has experiance with rebuilding an engine - I have a conern....
My engine has right around 1000 miles on it, Ive changed the oil once...
The oil was a pretty nasty color, like a dark gray. Is this normal...is it not normal? Ive heard yes and no...
Ive had this second oil "batch" in for about 150 miles and I think its dirty also...havnt drained it yet.
So, is it normal for the oil to be a strange color the first couple oil changes or is something wrong?

Compression test was fine...250 across the board.
Was using a stock PCV system.

Yea...I had an update in the Integra forum about it
Just picked up the head from the machine shop today actually, had the dowels enlarged. Ordered all the gaskets and misc. stuff I need yesterday from Honda and that will be in tomorrow. Hondata was ordered yesterday also and that will be in mid next week
The head will be on this Saturday though...but Ill be driving around on a LS ECU

I took a little brake from honda-tech (kidna, only on like 30 min. a day insteed of hours.) and spent more time with my Girl Friend, I must have missed the update. Glad to hear you got the head though.
Well I have 3 free hours until my GF gets home, so I think Im going to catch up on H-T now

well, there you go. Ventilation is very important. It might also be wise to pick up a can of brake parts cleaner for your new head. Turn the head on it's side, and fill each port up with the cleaner. If it leaks through, you need to replace the valve or have the seat ground. Just a little insurance.
