Default Opinions, Ideas, Info on my setup b18c/b16 60trim

Hey guys i have my new setup almost complete i just wanted to get your ideas and opinions on it. You guys all have great info and have great setups so i value your opinion.

B18C1 stock Bottom end
ITR oil pump
B16A2 stock head/intake manifold
GSR cams
AEBS head studs
New OEM headgasket

GSR trans
ACT clutch

Inline pro manifold ss
t3/t04e 60 trim .60 Compressor .63 Exhaust 4 bolt exhaust
3in Downpipe
Tial external wastegate. routed back in
2.5 intercooler pipes

want to run about 10psi hoping for 300whp

I'm wondering what kind of spool time i will have and what i should be looking forward too.

Thanks guys I know the turbo is a bit big for my power goals. I got it for a real deal from my brother. I plan to run this kit for a year, then i will move on to my idea of a turbo kit.

Thanks again.

Spool time is different on every car for the most part. It depends on quite a bit of factors including compression ratio and displacement. If you're only going for 10psi and 300whp and want a fast spooling turbo a 60 trim probably isn't the best choice. If you can afford it go smaller dual ball bearing like GT28 or GT25. I doubt a 60 trim is even in its efficiency range at 10psi, but if you're revving up high you will need a decent sized turbo to carry you through the top end. IB a E316G or BIG16G off a DSM would be a really good street turbo for you.

Again though, 10psi is kinda low, so maybe the big 60 trim will be better for you. It's not really psi that matters it's cfm or how much air the turbo pushes. I'd say spool by 4500 with your turbo shouldn't be too far off. Also, for a FWD a laggier turbo isn't really a bad thing lol. It gives your tires (or tire if you're open diff rofl) a chance to grab before hitting full boost. All in all your set-up definitly has good potential and your goals for it are way reasonable. I would run more boost if I was you. What tuning device or program are you using? Need a wideband lol?

i have a plx m300 and will be runing crome pro. My last car was a del sol with d16z6 with gt28rs. i just got this setup for a really good deal so i 'm going to use it for a year. but i just wanted to know what to expect. the compression with be 9:8:1. This will be my 4th turbo car so i know how they all work but just not use to this size turbo and or B series so much, i've only had LS and d-series motors so far.

thanks for your reply though.

This is roughly the same setup I'll be looking to do. Except for a 3" exhaust and a RLD-Fab manifold. I'm just looking for 12 psi and 300 whp for now until I get out of school. Just can't afford the stuff right now.

Good luck with it. Hopefully you get some more responses.

that's a pretty good setup...i have a similar one on my GSR and made 275whp on 9psi on 92octane with a conservative tune....you could make 300whp pretty easily

So in that vid, are you easing it to 5k, then getting on the gas? If thats just where you start making power, I'd be very disapointed if I were you. The turbo gsr my brother bought made just over 300whp at 10psi - with an fmu on a 50trim. Even with the 50trim, it spooled too slow for him.

If you're serious about just 300whp, you'd be MUCH better off with something like a super60 T3, and run 15-18psi. People will claim it will fall off, but not before you make 250wtq and spool almost 2k rpm sooner. The s-trim I have on my sedan is known to make 300whp as well, and my tired d16 gets 11psi by 4k.

As long as you're happy though, I give it a

Alright let me clear this up. Yes i eased into it it makes 10psi by just under 4k the car is only tuned at WOT right now, so spool is not so great for easing into it. I'm waiting for my exhaust Parts to come so i can put it on then i'm doing a retune. it was just a drag car before so i never tuned it for the street.

kevron

it ran 11.6 @ 122
