i got a 96 del sol with a y7 i was loking for more power in the 180-200 whp. ive been reading tons of posts debating whether to stick wit a sohc or go dohc. ive made up my mind and want to stay single. not looking to upgrade internals rite now. my stock y7 has about 150,xxx. was originally going to get a y8 head but not enough power. so i was thinking about boost so should i get a full y8 swap or just the head. get some head work and turbo that? also what turbo would do me good for that kind of power. what psi could i run safely on stock internals? then i wanted to got to OBD1. at that i was just thinkin about doing a z6 swap and turbo that since its OBD1. if i do that besides the ecu is there anything i would need for the z6 swap? if im not mistaken the mounts from a 92-95 are the same as 96-2000 for d series? so these are my options keep my y7 get the vtec head arp studs convert to OBD1 and turbo it with 150,xxx on the bottom. or pay for a y8 swap convert to OBD1 and turbo. or buy a z6 swap with ecu and anything else i need and turbo that. im sorta leaning to the z6 cause of the plethora of parts and price if something goes wrong. then i got a whole nuther thing with the trans stick with the y7 with a y8 block. the y7 with the z6 block. full y8 or full z6 swap. rite now jus looking for some insight and guidance and ideas. if this is gonna happen its going down around tax time. any input is ok good or bad maybe looking to find other people who were here and what made them decide to do what they did
