Ok the run cat w/o heat shield?

I need to put my cat back on for while but I welded teh heat shield to my test pipe just in case a cop pulled out a mirror. So its it ok to run the cat w/o the heat shield? Dont see why not the dp gets pretty hot itself.

I've been running with no bottom heat shield for over a year now. No probs just don't park in high grass or leaves.
