OK to REMOVE oil squiters and plug w/ forge pistons on B18C????
Sup guys.... I search "oil squiter" and found this....
"B18C/B16A applications require removing piston squirters.
I plugged the oil squirters in my B18C to help reduce oil consumption. With forged pistons, you don't need the squirters. If the threads in the hole are o.k.-just put a bolt and a crush washer in all of your oil squirter holes."
Can I really do this to my b18c????? I need to know cuz one of my oil squiters are broken and im not sure if a b16a squiters would work. Please give me your opinion if I should just plug all of them or replace them with b16a squiters??? Thanks guys!

IMO, I would keep them.
They help with lubrication, as well as cooling the pistons a great deal. I've only heard of people removing them on race setups for a little more oil pressure for the bearings, and less windage.

I removed them simply because the cooling effect is no longer needed with forged pistons, and the "squirts" sort of giving a resistance effect as the piston goes to the bottom of the combustion stroke, again may be minute different, but I have had problem with squirters than good. (piston skirt knocks the squirter out, busting oil pressure wyyy low..)

I would like to see you come up with a bolt to just put in the oil squirter hole. It is an 8mm bolt with a .75 thread pitch. Impossible to find. I just tap the hole to 1/8" pipe thread and install a pipe plug with an allen head.
Squirters are needed only to cool CAST aluminum stock pistons with very little piston to wall clearance.

Do what I did, I had Tony1 cut the nozzle of the squirter, and weld it shut. I still use the same bolts but the nozzle is cut where it starts.

your b16 oil squirters are the same. plug them if your running forged pistons. take some wire crimpers and squeeze the end shut. nick

Is it a bad thing to keep them with forged pistons?

I stand corrected.
