Ok, RC injector fitment again
Ok, I have some /REAL/ 550cc RC injectors now... heh heh.
Now, I know everyone has issues with the RC injectors fitting into the manifold...
What does everyone do? I test fitted them on an LS manifold and although everything is the right height (if I keep the stock plastic ring insulators in the bungs), they don't seem to seal too well. If I remove the plastic insulators they really do not seal. Vacuum (boost) leaks seem bad to me.
What does everyone do to make them seal nicely?
Dustin

Re: Ok, RC injector fitment again (dustin)
the injectors i have i put on my manifold the other day for fun... they barely went in but i got them in with a little shoving... maybe im wrong... but try to a little harder to push them in and if they dont go... maybe try to lubricate them a little...
(if im makeing no sence now... im tired...)

The whole O ring size fits great into the fuel rail.
The base of the injector (where the fuel sprays out) doesn't seal too well against the intake manifold bungs.... No risk of fuel leaks... risk of vacuum/boost leak...

bleh, but even if I tighten the rail down I can see a little crack between the injector and the plastic insulator in the injector bung...

My new RC injectors came with the manifold side seals and they fit perfectly. Dustin, did yours not come with them?

Nah... they didn't. I went out and fooled with the rail on the actual GSR manifold and I think I can get it to work. Thanks.

Re: Ok, RC injector fitment again (D-SPEED)
I got my injectors used and without the grommets for the manifold side. What I did was take the stock one and flare the opening on one end, I use a taper grinding stone and a drill. I only did one side of the grommet, the side the injector is inserted into. With some lubrication and a bit of muscle I got the injectors seat in. I am have no boost/vacuum problems at all.

Re: Ok, RC injector fitment again (turbosol)
The main problem is that the injector is actually larger than the bore in the manifold... so it will never go down all the way no matter what I do.
Brian (turbointeg95) ground down the edges of his injectors and got them to seat all the way... but I am so weary!
