Default Ok to helicoil where the headstuds go?

I was installing my head on my block today and one of the threads in the block stripped out. Can I helicoil this or is that a bad idea?

Oh and can I reuse my headgasket? I had the head torqued down to 30 ft-lbs and then had 6 of the headstuds torqued to 50 ft-lbs...doing it in increments. As soon as the thing stripped we pulled the head so would it still be ok to use that head gasket?

time serts are the only way to go, helicoils suck. And you cannot reuse a headgasket.
