oil-spray cooling for pistons on VTEC but not for SOHC... ?
Hi guys, I have a question.. I know VTEC engines( my B16A1) has oil-spray cooling for the down side of the pistons, but SOHC engines doesn't have this. I think it's a real problem when I wanna try to turbo my other SOHC engine.. does anyone know how to solve cooling for pistons in SOHC engines?

You don't really need them with a good forged piston. I know of a certain 600whp D16 that doesn't use them.

A few grams of added translational mass in oil on the pistons at high RPM's and the oil not being in a constant location...I don't think it's going to kill anything, but I can see how preventing it is going to help some...probably no gains that are noticable, but if it were me, I'd remove the squirters.
