Default Oil Sandwich adapter and oil pressure gauge....

Well, I ordered my oil lines and sandwich from fast-turbo.com (awesome stuff btw) but I'm a little confused on what goes where. I was planning on using the sandwich to feed my oil pressure sender as well as my oil feed line. However, the thread on one of the fittings is WAY too big for either. The pressure sender fit right into a blocked off port, but the other one is huge. Did I order the wrong stuff?

Also, is it possible to run the oil pressure sender right off the sandwich like the picture, or do I need to have a line made?

Most likely you will need to mount the sender somewhere else. I was trying to do the exact same thing last night and I wasn't able to get my sender in there. Your sender looks similar in size to the one I was using. it either hit the block, the coolant pipe, the stock oil pressure, or the breather chamber. If you have removed the chamber, it might work.

As for the oil sandwhich, I had Stan make me a 8an to 3an fitting so that I could use the large port for the feed line. hth

You might get away with mounting the pressure sender on the sandwich adapter if you use a 1/8 npt elbow. If not, what i did before is buy a short -4an line and mount the sender on the firewall. As for the bigger plug you need to find out what size it is... usually either a 1/4npt, -6an or -8an and buy a reducer to connect to whatever size oil line your using for the turbo.

Why does Autometer need to use such a huge monstrosity for a sensor when Defi has one that is the size of a fuel injector?

I tried using a npt 90, the sender hit the friggin oil filter. I've decided to mount it on the firewall.

I'm with Muck, why must the sender be so big? Having that large of a sensor hanging somewhere by the small threaded end is not good.

Yeah thats pretty much your only alternative. Run a line, and mount it externally somewhere.

would it be better to mount it to the firewall or the block so when the motor rocks back and forth it moves with the motor? The only thing wrong with mounting it to the block is will the vibration kill it?

Traditional way is to mount it on the firewall with some slack in the line to relieve stress. http://www.theoldone.com/articles/oilpressure/

Thanks for the comments guys. Any idea where I can get that adapter from 8an to 3an if Stan doesn't get back to me? Also, that sender is from a Stewart Warner gauge.

I just ran a line from the stock location on the block, to the sender which I mounted on the firewall with one of those loop strap fastener things. Then I used the small port on the sandwich to feed the turbo. I blocked off the big *** port with a plug.
