Oil pressure on a turbo civic
I just installed a oil pressure guage on my 2.0L LS/VTEC turbo civic.
I am seeing very low readings and I am wondering if I might have the sender hooked up wrong or the oil lines wrong. I am seeing 10-12 psi at idle when warm and nothing over 65 psi all the way up to 8500 rpm. When VTEC kicks in I see the pressure drop to 50 psi all the way to 8500 rpm.
I have checked the oil level and the pan is not damaged. The engine has only 5000 miles on it and a new GSR oil pump was installed when the engine was built by Import Builders.
I have included some pics of my line setup and the location of the sender. Let me know if something doesn't look right. I think that the sender is too high on the firewall and maybe the line to the head is not necessary?
