Oil Pressure Gauge vs. OEM Oil Pressure Light
having trouble with oil pressue and what not on a boosted d15b...
getting about 15-20psi at a warm idle, and 40-50psi crusing at 2500-3000rpm according to my electronic oil pressure gauge. i know the stock oil pressure light will come on really low, like at 5-7psi, but the light now comes on with the readings above^^. not driving it at all because i dont want to risk the bearings, but just wanna see what other's input is. |

Post up some pics of how you have everything T'd, chances are something got fouled up with the factory sensor.

Reset the ecu, see if it goes away. If not I think you'll be ok, I'd trust the gauge over the "idiot light" anyday.

i thought so too. at the moment i still wont drive it, just until im absolutely sure. not worth risking it, right?

that light is triggerd by a ground. check to see if you have a short on the sensor wire. if i comes on really dim, it could be a bad gauge cluster or bad ground on the cluster.

Re: (jameelrose)
I know the ecu won't reset the light....obviously he has an electrical problem somewhere, so it makes sense to start with the simple things.

OEM sending unit might be bad.
