Default oil pressure driven turbocharger

This doesn't have much to do with Hondas--but I thought it might be of some interest. As I was thumbing through a book I have on tuning weber carbs, I came across a pic. of an engine compartment with this caption--"Alfa Romeo 'GTA sovraalimentazione' used two turbochargers driven by engine oil pressure--yes, oil pressure!--to get 225 HP from 1600cc and two DCOE carbs, Twin-plug head helped." I don't think the car was in production, I think it was a one-off race car. I believe it used the standard DOHC 8-valve 1600cc Alfa alloy block and head. Has anybody ever pondered doing something like this, or heard of anyone else doing a setup like this? I am curious.....

I heard of a fluid driven design very similar to this... it was called a hydracharger or something.

It was a couple years ago almost now but the design patent was sold back and forth a couple times I thought... then put to the back shelf for some reason.

Will try to see if I can still find the info on it.

I believe mass transit buses use something similar to this

I know Dave Coleman--talked about (I think) the Hydracharger a couple of years ago in one of the articles in the front of SCC--I think that was a bit different. Running a turbo off of engine oil pressure--is something totally different!! I don't how well it worked, or if it even worked at all--but they are a number of different liquid powered forced induction systems. I think the Hydracharger use a seperate pump (similar to a power steering pump--something that could develop alot of pressure) to spin some sort of turbine....
