oil press. sender hits oil filter- is it a problem?

oil press. sender hits oil filter- is it a problem?
my oil pressure sending unit just barely hits my oil filter. they are both on with no problems, but does the metal on metal contact mess with the sender? mine started jumping around the other day and now it just doesnt read at all

Since the filter 'floats' ever so slightly due to the rubber gasket, you may get odd vibration between the two if they contact. Since its usually a small diaphagm (now usually solid-state pezioelectric-like stuff), it could definately kill it. I'd suggest relocating everything to the firewall, as they show on the endyne site. That, or get an oil sandwich adapter.

yeah i have a sandwhich plate, which is why the filter hits. ive got my turbo and vtec feed off the sand. plate and my oe and aftermarket oil press sensors runningout of the oem pressure hole.hmmmm
