Re: (SiRClay)
If your CHRA has a coolant jacket then I say run some lines.
It's easy and quick to do, and it gives you some added insurance.
I had water lines on my last setup and I would never idle it before I shut the car off. I was told that if you have a water cooled turbo that the coolant cools the turbo slow enough so that you don't need a turbo timer...
Anyways, I rebuilt the turbo after over a year of daily driving it like that and the bearings were still mint.

yup, that's why almost all factory turbos are water cooled. It makes it easy to not mes up your turbo. You dont have to hook them up but know that it may make your turbo last longer if you dont let it cool down before shutting the motor off

Sure it is. The only non-water-cooled turbos I have seen were either extremely old or for a diesel. I think running a turbo timer just because you were too lazy to buy a couple fittings is stupid.

For some turbos, its not a matter of being lazy. The vast majority of new Garrett turbos use 3/8" npt, but some of the older T3's have a rediculous parallel metric thread that needs either a $60-85 banjo fitting, or in my case a copper seal and bolt welded to a home-made npt fitting.
