Default oil leaks from turbo when boosting

i maybe in denial here. but i just want more opinions. i couldnt' find a particular thread that answers my question..

here's my situation... oil leaks from the turbo as shown...
it only leaks if i go into boost. i don't get oil when i drive around in vacuum... but if i go into boost once... there will oil collected. any help??

i've check my drain line... my feed is an-3 and my drain is -10. oil pressure is at about 20 psid at warm idle and 70 psid at 3K rpm. I've check around the drain fitting... and it looks dry... (thinking that oil may spray down)... I've yanked my pcv valve and replace it with an eblow... draining to the ground.

Any suggestions.

make sure everything is tightened down on the turbo, all the bolts. may want to replace the drain line with a braided one in case.

I don't know if I had the same problem, but I had my turbo rebuilt because one of the rings' gap was too big on the turbine wheel. Anyway, the turbo had a stream of burned oil right where you've indicated. I had it rebuilt and they said that the gap was good to go so I threw the turbo on and still had the oil leak! I was pretty pissed until I changed the oil. Turns out that the oil I was using for N/A was realy thin (not to mention about 2000 km's over due! ) but once I swapped in for some thicker oil, I haven't had any problems.

I'm currently using Mobil 1 10w30... Which I believe many people here use. Should I go thicker???

I've checked the boltss around the compressor... They're all tight...

Well, if most people are using it, then maybe the oil thickness isn't the problem and you have a different problem than I did...on the other hand, when's the last time you did an oil change?

Mine had a similar problem. I just replaced the seals and it hasn't leaked since.

Oil change about two weeks ago.
I've had the turbo for only three months.
Oh well.

Ehh.. if you are not losing that much oil I wouldn't worry about it. Just let it be and replace the seals when they get noticably bad.

I have the EXACT same problem. First my feed line was a little lose so I tightened it. It still did it just not as bad. I dont think it's such a big deal. I just clean it once in a while.

Thanks guys... I'm going to go through the troubleshooting matrix just to make sure I didn't miss anything during the install.
