Oil Consumption?
How much oil do you guys consume every 1000 miles? Quart or more? Im consuming over a quart every 1000. Honda says that 1 quart every 1000 is okay, but now that ive gone turbo then i consumer more... is this normal?

not okay.. do a compression test (compression test may reveal for rings), leakdown (for valve seals?).. oil would have to make its way through seals.. headgasket (any oil spills around engine bay), piston rings or valve seals.. some oil goes in catch can.. if you run that.. if you get much oil out of breather valve on valve cover.. then its probably rings.. i don't think you should get any oil out of there.. if anything very minor odd sounds from engine? puffs of smoke from oil cap or breather valve? or blue smoke out exhaust? are you loosing coolant? check for all of these |

any other ideas/opinions?

sometimes old turbos that are going south leak oil into the snails. look for oil in your charge pipe.

1 quart of oil every 1000 miles? i've never heard of this...and i think it's just honda's way of avoiding your problems. if that were the case...you'd only have 1 quart of oil left before every oil change https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

Re: (shermanyang)

my engien didnt miss any oil at oil changes.. if so so minimal i couldnt tell.. after i boosted it consumed a bit of oil but not that drastic somethign is wrong.. righs or valve seals as mentioned b4 |
Re: (kamaleon)
If you want my honest opinion you have a serious problem. You should not burn over 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. Whoever told you that is lieing. Do a compression and leak down test. There is definetly a problem somewhere.

Re: (2k1 itr)
check for physical leaking from any fittings or the turbo itself
