oil change for turbo?
A little over 2000 miles ago I got my turbo installed on my integra. I am running organic oil and I'm planning to change my oil soon. I was wondering if it would be ok to run synthetic oil and if there was a procedure for switching from organic to synthetic? Anyone know what to do or which oil I should run (organic or synthetic)?

agreed: if your motor is broken in, you should FO' SHO' have been using synthetic. i do and still change my oil every 2k-3k miles. but i'm kinda rough on my stuff

I use Royal Purple 5w-30, and I change it every 2000-2500 miles.
Inside the motor everything looks brand new. Some people like mobil 1 it is good **** except it just dosent seem to run as clean as I would like.
Also another really good oil is Leading Edge. But I couldnt find anymore so I switched to RP.

synthetic blend is like using organic. think of it this way, when you turbocharge a vehicle, it instantly becomes higher maintenance. it will show you good times, it will win you money and respect; all it asks for is some love (as in, synthetic oil that you change every 6 months or when it starts looking dirty).
i use mobil 1, so did the dude that owned it before me; i'm switching to amsoil on my next change, gotta experiment

switching to AMSOIL soon. anyone ever heard of it?
the reccomended oil change is 25,000mi or 1yr, whichever comes first.
my friend has been running it in his vette and it's still super clean after 10,000mi. there are a few turbo DSM and turbo honda people here that swear by it too, so i'm gonna give it a shot.
and allshowallgo is allslownogo!

i signed up to be a dealer for amsoil, but no one in this area wants synthetic. stupid v8, organic, old school weirdos... everyone here thinks synthetic is a waste, they don't realize that synthetic is more expensive, but lasts way longer

I agree with out there. If it's a *blend* then they blend it in their favor, not yours, i.e. mostly organic with a little synthetic so they can call it a "blend" and make more profit. How often do companies (especially oil companies) do things in your favor? Maybe Dick Cheney and Dubya can tell us! IMHO I'd say either go all or nothing with synthetic. Getting a *blended* oil is like buying Kona blend coffee. Yes it's 10% Kona but it's also 90% trash.
Interesting tidbit: every year consumers buy more than twice as much Kona coffee than is grown.

organic oil will clump up and create blockage if there is a small leak. synthetic won't clump, and will eventually break apart these clumps. this doesn't cause a leak, it shows you a leak that was already there... something your organic oil hid from you.

i used to run Castrol Synthec 10w30, i just recently switched to the new Mobile 1 15w50 cause it was made for turbocharged cars. the Castrol seemed to run smother than the Mobile 1 
maybe cause it's thinner?

TurboDANDEE..is 15-50 too thick of an oil for turbo applications??...I know u said that its for turbo rides....but it has a really heavy cold and running weight!!?

I'm running Mobil1 full syntec, 5 - 30
changing the oil every 4000 Km
No complain to do about that oil, she is still a nice color when I drop it off the pan ...
I want to use Amsoil too but no body sell it around here, I might just order a pack from the website damn.

I always used 5w30 synthetic on my car until I went turbo in June. Switched to Mobil 1 10w30 and oil change every 3k miles (or earlier) ever since I've owned her. She runs great and the oil comes out very nice at every oil change.

Come on, there has to be someone using walmart oil. I am curious how it performs. I have a feeling it is as good as any other non-synthetic.
