Default Oil Catch Can + Turbo (Boosting the Oil Catch Can?!)

I've had my Greddy oil catch can for a bit. And noticed there is some oil leaking from the catch can from the hoses. When you boost, the turbo will fill up the intake manifold + the catch can with pressurized air. How do you guys stop this? Use a 1 way check valve inline with the hose that connects to the intake manifold vac source?

Thanks.

i think your only suppose to tap that to the turbo inlet piping not the actual turbo pipes .I don't think it should be presurrized at all just vacuum only.

So one hose goes to the turbo inlet and the other to the pcv valve?

I'm not tapping it to the turbo pipe. I'm connecting it to its orginal location, the Intake manifold.

if you;re running a baffled catch can, then you have the right way of doing it..

but for non baffled like the greddy, you need to tap it from the intake pipe of the turbo to the valve cover breather. Just like if you;re running NA ( like you still remember heheheh)

So if I do it that way, what should I do about the intake manifold source where the PCV valve USE to get its vacuum source? Plug it up?

Also if I were to connect it to the turbo inlet side would there be enough vacuum?

hmm, leave the PCV chamber as it is...

yes there will be enough vacuum...

Whats the difference between a baffled and non baffled catch can?

A baffled catch can will condense the oil vapor as it passes through it so it collects in the can.

A non-baffled catch can is generally used for coolant and does not condense the vapors well at all.

Always use a baffled catch can for crankcase ventilation or you are wasting your time.

i've heard that filling your unbaffled catchcan w/ still wool will work, too. (now it's baffled)

you can either cap off the port on the intake manifold and use a small k&n on the open port of the catch can (recommended) or i guess you could use a check valve like the one on the vacuum line to the brake booster. that would work.

So if i don't want to tap into compressor intake pipe, i can run baffled oil catch can and use original location right before the intake manifold? Anyone done this like that and it still works?

I don't want to use a breather https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=331750..
"To relieve this pressure, a system called the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) is used. It is a closed system that takes the pressurized oil vapor from these two lubrication areas and introduces it back into the combustion chamber, by way of vacuum that comes from the intake charge. It is necessary for the system to be a closed system, otherwise the vacuum will not work. Using what is commonly called a breather filter on your valve cover allows the system to be open to ambient air. The vacuum-driven PCV system will cease to work and this can damage an engine."

I'm not tapping it to the turbo pipe. I'm connecting it to its orginal location, the Intake manifold. 1
