So on the b18b valve cover would I plug the PCV valve number 1 and route the hose from hole 2 like you have?

that's correct. the other check valve will not fit there.

I'm sure you may be able to finagle some coin-sized service grommet. Otherwise, unfortunately, nothing comes immediately to mind.

Opinion on drainback to oil pan vs the block plug? I have a moroso pan with an option for drainback.

Also do you happen to know the size of the two freeze plug adapters? I keep seeing some that are 28mm listed as B series and some as 38mm listed as B series.

I would go back to the block to allow the oil to disperse above the windage tray . oil pan would experience disruption. I wouldn't drain back there
