Default oil catch can=power steering fluid reservoir...can it work?(DIY)

ive been thinking on making my own oil catch can... been looking into diff options and doing some research... couple of days ago while surfing around i got stuck on stupid looking at a pic... when all of the sudden i looked at the power steering reservoir and came with the idea of turning it on to a oil catch can...
most of the PS reservoirs come with some sort of filters inside to prevent the fluid to be contaminated .... so i went to my local junk yard and i got this reservoir... pretty simple .... (forgot wut car it came out of)

my questions are ... would the reservoir hold vacum?? would the fliter work trapping oil vapors?? would this work at all?? any inputs and comments are welcome

I am about to try this myself. My reservior looks different though, must be from a newer car. Mine is the light grey one with red cap. I think it will work, the plastic is hard and pretty good at taking the heat since it is in the engine bay. I don't know about yours but it also looks like mine has a small amount of baffling already too.

by the looks of it, looks like it would work. by holding vacum i assume you mean if you put the cap on the oil wont spill out the bottom? im not sure bout that. id make something to hold it in. maybe just buy a rubber nipple and zip tie around? good luck

Im going to try this. It sounds like this will work just as good as a aftermarket catch can. Ill post my results
