Oh crap! leaking oil from head gasket!!
Well, I knew that the way my car was running was just too good to be true. I was playing around in there, and noticed a little bit of oil where the head meets the block. It is only leaking in that one spot right in the corner under the VTEC solenoid in the corner there, and it doesn't look like much, but there is a dried line of oil running from that corner down to under my tranny. I haven't run a compression test yet, I'll probably do that today. The head gasket I've got is the one that lowers the C/R to 9:1 - it came with my Fmax kit.
Do you guys think I'm gonna have to change the head gasket, or could it be something else? Maybe its the oil I'm using - Mobil 1 synthetic - Maybe that stuff is just too thin. Any ideas?
This is soooo frustrating.

Oh crap! Oil flooded the spark plugs, too!
I hate my life. Maybe I shouldn't have started messing with my car

I'd look at various seals and the valve cover gasket first. If it's not a bad leak, don't mess with it. Comp. test won't tell you anything about your leak.

Re: Oh crap! leaking oil from head gasket!! (dustin)
I changed out the chrome valve cover I had in there, and put in an OE ITR valve cover. I just took it back off, and low and behold, I forgot to put on the O-ring gaskets for the spark plugs on the new valve cover.
So, I took off the valve cover, cleaned all the oil out, and put in the O-rings. after re-assembling it, I let the engine warm up so I could do a comp. test, turned off the motor, and pulled the wires. Guess what . . . the oil flood was back!
Right now I'm thinking that I somehow f**ked up the valve cover gaskets, so I'm gonna go get some new ones tomorrow and try that. If that doesn't work, then I'll have to take apart more stuff until I find the problem.

i dont think its the headgasket... more than likely it is some other seal... maybe from the vtec selenoid... valve cover gasket... just check everything

My friend's GSR is doing the same. The cam seals were replace and there is no oil coming from the valve cover. The oil is showing right where the block and head meet.. at the left corner. I thought it was a headgasket issue, but there's no coolant loss or white smoke. What could it be? Vtec Solenoid?

This seems to be the era for oil leaks. I feel your pain. I found my turbo IS leaking oil at the turbine side. I got under my car and also found oil (not much) coating the area under the transmission bracket near where it attaches to above the oil pan. I'm not sure where its coming from!! I know its not from the oil sending unit/oil feed or the oil filter. I sense maybe its coming from the pcv system since I found oil in my pcv valve but I dont see where any came out from the breather box. I'm baffled. I sprayed gumout and hosed everything down. Now I have to see if I can catch where its accumulating from.
