If you have to ask it isn't worth it.

most eBay turbos aren't worth their weight in scrap metal.

I know this, but I want to know approximately a thing like this how much time can last : http://www.ebay.com/itm/GT30-T3-TURBO-CHARGER-TURBOCHARGER-ANTI-SURGE-OIL-WATER-COOLED-CIVIC-INTEGRA-/291042042775?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43c3752397&vxp=mtr
I know that this a fake turbo and blablablabla.... but I can buy five of this fake turbos at the cost of one "serious" one like garrett etc.
Moreover some of these turbos have a 1 year warranty...
Am I to much "optimistic" about it?

And again, It is more convenient to buy 2 "fake" turbos or a remanufactured one (like garrett) ?

I'm asking this only in a "saving money" prospective.

thanks for your replies and future " insults "

there isn't a "minimum time limit"

some are broken out of the box, other fail immediately on first startup, or days, weeks, months, years, some never fail at all...

it's a total crapshoot, considering these chinese foundries have no metallurgy quality control, no casting/machining quality control, no assembly quality control, and no balancing quality control, basically no QC standards anywhere, you never know what you're gonna get out of it.

also most chinese companies don't copy the wheel sizes exactly, due to copyright infringement and lack of manufacturing technology, as well as a total lack of knowledge as to what they're building. so just because it says "gt30" doesn't mean it will perform like one, most drastically underperform in the power department compared to their name brand counter parts.

Aww, how cute...wantboost, he thinks you're insulting him!

A 1 year warranty doesn't mean a damn thing. If a blade eats itself, goes through your intake and takes a valve with it, they aren't warrantying your entire motor.

The irony of this all is you couldn't buy 2 of those for what I bought my Garret turbo for. Sure my Garrett is oil cooled only, but I got it for $400 shipped, nearly brand new. I'd check the market place here before I bought eBay turbos.

And then replace every single part for almost 10x the initial investment lol.

I'm starting to think that a lot of HT members slept through econ101

The basic rule is spend the needed money up front or pay a lot more later.

Yep. How much will the new motor cost you when my aforementioned scenario happens? How much will a new turbo cost you when the ChinaCharger takes a **** on you in a year? How much will a new motor cost you when the knock-off BOV or WG fails and overboosts your motor to oblivion?

I always used Chinese turbos with good luck but I was looking at Comp turbos and they are only around $500. I don't see any point in getting any Chinese turbo that is more then $200. Always ran -3 feed with no restrictor and currently no BOV. Cheap wastegates aren't a problem either as long as you have boost cut. I'll be trying this Turbo out when I get my new motor in.

Why support the chinese and give them your money? Go with to a quality US company and support our dying economy. You get what you pay for.

I'm guessing you guys didn't read the title?
The turbos are out there, nothing will change that. Let the people here make their own decisions. If you have no concern with chiner turbos ignore the thread.

I was referencing the cost 'efficiency' alone. I'll remember to stay 100% on topic though.

I've seen some success stories. I've seen some horror stories.

No harm.

Its just the title says official ebay turbo thread

Let the guys who aren't fortunate enough to spend big money on a turbo setup discuss this alternate method in peace.

They will figure out if its worth it or not.

Users get intimidated because people in here come in and attack the guys and then they don't comeback.

Attack? I don't think so. In gdd yeah. Here? can't think of anyone besides arguing with shodan..

I help a lot more than I am a *****. Do you ever wander into the misc tech section?

I don't really like to help with diagnosing anymore because most people here want the quick simple answer and you're never going to get that so I don't help as much.

Well, this is an old thread but it is the “OFFICIAL EBAY TURBO THREAD” so here I go.

I have GSR B18C that has a set up of 18psi that is been running for years with a Turbonetics T3T4 turbo with the orange plate. It’s already tuned and bla bla bla. The turbo finally went bad, has play in shaft so I am looking to buy a “TEMP” turbo from eBay until I find someone to rebuild the Turbonetics one.

Does anyone here have a prefer seller from eBay that had good luck with their eBay turbo? What eBay turbo or seller would you guys recommend? It will be a temp turbo but I don’t want it be a 40 mile or 2 hour temp turbo either. My budget is $100 to $180

THANK YOU

I sourced my turbo kit from CXRACING and the turbo has done well. T04E .63 A/R.. Ran it at 17 psi and it has held well through what I've put it through. Been sitting for a few months now while I'm redoing my build but it still looks great. I'll know if it still works in about a week. Lol!
Anywho.. If looking for a cheap temp, I'd start there.

Been a while since I've seen this thread but I figured I'd add a little to it. This is a eBay 35r/speedfactory mini ram I used on my awd b20 crx. Made 332/257 on a stock bottom end with ported p75 head and crower 404's on 15lbs. The second dyno sheet is from a turbo gsr that made 458whp on 20lbs. Also eBay 35r, he has the more expensive dual ball bearing turbo. Mine was the one for $299 but I made an offer for $225 that the seller accepted. It's still running well on my new motor, b20vtak and I'll have dyno results in the next few weeks once I get some of the cars issues sorted out.
