ODB-I v. ODB-II
I have a 2000LS, so I think I have ODB-II v.2. What are the problems of keeping ODB-II on a FI car? What advantages of switching over? What do I loose by switching over (ODB-II is newer, so it probably reads more things)? Also, whats involved in switching over, and how much would it cost?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: ODB-I v. ODB-II (BluLuder)
to get the most out of your turbo, it's best to be able to tune it with something like a standalone. However, there is an advantage to OBD1....if you are using piggy-back devices to set the a/f ratios then w/ OBD2 you need to reset the ecu every couple of weeks as OBD2 will detect the change and will compensate by making the mixture richer, rendering your 'tuning' useless. OBD1 doesn't compensate like that and in addition you can run a test pipe (no cat) as the secondary O2 sensor is not longer used. With OBD2 it's more difficult, but not impossible to run a test pipe.

Re: ODB-I v. ODB-II (smoothludey2)
Ok, well im gunna run the Fmax kit, so my ECU wont even touch my new injectors. Also, I'll be running a cat (probably carsound or something like that). W/ this setup, there really isn't any advantage to going ODB-I, is there?

Just as a sidenote, its OBD1 OBDII......ODB I believe refers to old dirty bastard.
anyway for the newbies out there, just do you dont get misinformation from knuckle heads.......
OBD stands for On 'Board Diagnostics'
