OBD1 LSVtec Turbo Questions...
Ok so I boosted the LSv, put a new competition Iron Man clutch in it drove 300 miles just to see what its got and the car **** on me. It acts like it might have a boost leak somewhere, but it won't barely build 5 lbs. and it's not hitting vtec. It just hesitates after about 4psi of boost. I know I probably need to re-gap my plugs to 30ish, but I didnt know if it would make that big of a difference.
I'm running all stock internals, garrett t3 turbo, tubular manifold, pricision intercooler, 450 dsm injectors, and a p72 on Chrome with a street tune for 8.8lbs. I wasn't sure if the ECU tune would eliminate the MAP sensor missing link ordeal or if I needed one regardless. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it's not the missing link I'm guessing there is a boost leak I haven't found yet or the spark plug gap issue. Either way its struggling with boost and not hitting vtec as far as I can tell. I had a poormans type r not hit vtec on me one time when it came unplugged and it feels about the same, just alot of hesitation.

Re: OBD1 LSVtec Turbo Questions...
the computer was tuned for a GSR, but the same exact injectors and everything. No CEL... Some people think it is because I hooked the exhaust up, but I don't think it would make this big of a difference. It is downpipe into flex pipe into high flow cat into 2.5" straight pipe Apexi Worldsport2. I can't even get it out right now for all the snow so I'm just trying to get a couple ideas of what it could be.

Does anyone know if the spark plugs being gapped around 50 would make it hesitate?
I never gapped them from where they were at all motor.

Re: OBD1 LSVtec Turbo Questions...
A missing link is for someone running a FMU that has to hide boost so the map sensor cant read it you shouldnt have a Missing link with a chipped ecu. Your plugs should be gaped at 23-27. NOT 50. you obviously have no clue what your doing here. And from what you are saying your car was never tuned. you bought a ecu that had someone elses tune on it?? thats a NO NO. you need a tune if you havent gotten a tune for your car Cant be using someone elses. same setup or not thats just laziness.

Re: OBD1 LSVtec Turbo Questions...
Yea thanks for the help man, I'm not retarded, I have had a turbo car before. I'm just asking questions cause I didn't figure everyone would be a douche bag about it. I don't have a bunch of money to throw at my cars like most so give me a break man. I just stated that I hadn't had a chance to look at it for all the snow up here so i figured I would ask around. I fixed a major boost leak today and it pulls fine now. I just need a straight answer on what exactly not gapping your plugs properly would do. Blow the spark out and cause detonation?
