O2 sensor questions

Well my car starts and idles fine with the Uberchip and 450cc injectors, but my ecu is telling me my O2 sensor is gone giving me a code 1 (OBD1). So while the car is running I unplugged to O2 sensor and there was no change indicating that the problem is coming from there some where. Also my a/f gauge barely indicates 2 leds. The O2 sensor has ~ 225,000kms on it, I blew my motor once and my HG another time with the same O2 sensor.

What do you guy's think?

i dont get what the question is

sounds like the O2 sensor is bad and needs to be replaced, replace it and see if you still get the same problem

Re: O2 sensor questions (silverkorn)

I replaced it with one from another civic and was still getting the same code and problem, so I don't know what the fuck right.

I don't really want to replace a pricey O2 sensor if it ain't the problem ya know. I'm going to test it and see whats on the go.

What is the ecu pin on the P28 ecu. I ask this cause I noticed one of my pins is corroded and could possible be causing this issue.

I also also read of a couple of people running the Uberchipped P28 also throwing check engine lights/codes.

I don't fucking know! It don't help that there ain't no support for the Uberchip anyway! Hopfully the forum I started will be some assistance to the support issue....................http://www.nfimports.net/forums/inde...dd&act=SF&f=18

ok so if a good O2 sensor went in and same same error then its either two things

1. the ecu/chip is bad and thus throwing a bogus code

2. the wiring from the sensor to the ecu itself is bad.

solutions:
1. find a replacement ecu and plug it in, dont drive car but see if the code comes up

2. get a continuity tester and see if you are getting voltage from the sensor wire, but find the pin on the plug.

hope that helps

Re: (silverkorn)

but if the ecu or eeprom program was bad woulden't she like not start, idle like crap etc etc. She starts a dn ildes fine, but when you rev it or get on the gas, its a no go.

Plus my A/F gauge just barely reads one led from the O2 sensor wire. so even if the ECU was fucked I should still get voltage from the O2 sensor if it was working right.

Plus like I said, when I unplug the O2 sensor when the car is going nothing changes, no better no worse, and she don't cut out.

Re: (Hybrid)

i had the same problem a couple weeks ago, my a/f guage would read 1 red light (lean). than 2 days later i got a cel (primary o2), so i swapped with a friends o2 (reset the ecu) and still got the code. so i put my o2 back in and didnt get a code for a couple days but my guage was still reading weird, so i went out and bought a new a/f guage. after the problem still persisted i finally broke down and bought a new o2, its been a couple weeks now without a problem. the weird thing is even with the car running with both the primary and secondary o2 unhooked my car still felt the same and ran fine.

btw: i got my o2 sensor from oxygensensors.com

Re: (g unit)

oh yea and a easy was to tell if your o2 is gone is to check the voltage with a voltmeter and see if it is within spec. i ended up buying one after the fact.
