Default O2 sensor question !!!^%@$%!$^%@$%

I'm currently working on a turbo for my car. But i was jus wondering if you need to reattach the sensor on the intake. I've seen other cars with turbo but never really noticed it. Do they just let it hang in the engine bay?

what about the exhaust O2 sensor? can i let that hang too or is it a absolute must to put it in? Thanks guys....

sir step away from the car, your going to hurt someone.

Theres no O2 sensor on the intake. And unless you have some kind of ems solution you need a primary O2 sensor in the exhaust too.

ok maybe it's not and O2 sensor on the intake, but the intake DOES have some kind of sensor. That's why cold air intakes have a rubber bung for inserting that sensor into. The stock intake box on my 99 DX has the sensor on it too. Thats the sensor that i have no idea what to do with. Sorry if i wasnt clearer.

And about that... will i nee the primary O2 sensor in the exhaust if i'm running Uberdata?
Thanks

I was going off the description that its the map sensor. If it is, I would suggest keeping it hooked up. You don't wanna mess with that too much. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in because I've never heard of an air temperature control sensor or whatever he said....

Yea I agree with the above....its an IAT (intake air temp.)

And yes, you do need to have that hooked up. Your ECU can adjust fuel values using that sensor.

It's is a good Idea to have it hooked up but will not hurt anything if you dont. I have let mine hang down on two cars and it never affected anything.

Don't be ghetto. Hook it back up. If you have a rubber grommet from your old intake or something then that will work perfect. Drill a hole in your charge pipe and use the grommet. Here is a pic of mine. It has never once popped out under pressure.

Oh and that sensor in the backround on top of my Throttle body is the map sensor. The one in the charge pipe is the intake air temp sensor. If you didn't have your map sensor hooked up your car wouldn't run too well

Thanks... that air temperature sensor picture helped a lot. I'll hook it up.

But my intake manifold is different from yours. I know where the MAP sensor is for the ex civics. I don't know where the MAP sensor is for the 99 civic DX. The DX manifold is different. That's why you can see that my intake has to make a "down" bend to connect to my throtle body.
