NXL kit compatable with different intake manifolds?

Looking into the "plug and play" direct port nitrous kit, except i do not have a b16/type r intake manifold. i have a skunk2 gsr intake manifold. i don't understand why it won't fit if b series fuel rails are all the same??? Anyone have any experience with this kit? or why it wouldn't fit on a skunk2 gsr intake manifold?

damn i was just about to post the same exact thread but i have an LS motor lol.

HAHA better buy a few spare motors vince.

The only thing I can think of is because of the injector angle of the gsr vs the b16 same reason why the full race IM won't work on the b16 head. But what do I know.

You know how to blow motors and drop bolts into the vss hole and wreck trannies https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif
But seriously, if a b series fuel rail fits them all then why wouldn't the nxl fuel rail fit the gsr/ls?

It should fit them all. I thought the nxl kit came with an intake mani?

nope, only the fuel rail and little injector slip over things

i got a nxl set up off of one of my friends 99 si and put it on my gsr swapped rex with a skunk pro series manifold. it is the old kit with the black fuel rail and adjustable wings for where the rail bolts to the manifold. one problem is that some rails have spacers under them, while others dont, and u may have to either do some shaving or spacing depending on the engine the kit was bought for vs the one its being put on. did u get it used or new? if u got it used, then there is a chance that u didnt get all of the parts.

i didn't get a kit yet, i was looking into it.

hondadude_rudo 09-20-2007 09:22 AM

the nxl kit is a very hard hitting kit. i had mine on the throtle switch at first, but it made too much power for street tires when going from a dig, so i set up my CROME tuned p28 to triger it and shut it down 200 rpm b4 rev limit and also have an interupt switch on it to keep it from activating when its unwanted. but then again im running a 90 shot rather than something a little more friendly like a 50

got any pictures of the fitment? I read one thread about it leaking, has the kit done this to you at all?

would also like to the the fitment of this kit.

dont have ne pics at the moment, but as soon as my girl brings her cam over, i'll get some for you guys. n i never had ne problems with leaking. just make sure that you use new injector o rings when u move the injectors from your stock rail to the nxl rail. (putting old rubber in a new hole is always asking for bad things lol)

Re: (bigbadboy)

hope you cleaned your computer off! i had a melt down, obviously the stock fuel pump didnt like the increased demands of a 90 shot, and she went lean on me https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif . guess i should have put in my 255lph pump a bit sooner, but its cool cuz my b20 hatch is awaiting a head transplant and the the b16 trans i just got. guess im just going to put the minime i built like 2 months ago for the rex in it, and boost the hell out of it since ive never played with boost b4. the hatch will stay na, and possibly get the kit put on it, but only with 50 jets this time lol. still working on takin some pics. ill leave the rail on the motor till i get them for you guys.

Re: (jdmcrx34)

well i got pictures since i figured it couldn't take much to make it fit.
the fuel rail lines up perfectly with the injectors.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...d/DSCN0965.jpg
These are the brackets that hold the fuel rail on the manifold, you can see the pencil mark (far left bracket) which i made that needs to be cut to fit.
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...d/DSCN0967.jpg
It seems to be almost a cm of material to cut
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...d/DSCN0968.jpg
I will probalby cut off a smaller piece because you can always take more off but never put back on once cut.
So as far as i know this will work with at least the skunk2 gsr manifold. If i run into any other problems i will let everyone know.

The next pictures you will post is the pieces of your motor when you blow that shit up. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

hondadude_rudo 10-03-2007 07:15 PM

dont run a 90 shot with the stock fuel pump, bad things happen as i just recently found out. i didnt have to trim the fuel rail wings on my kit to get it to work, i just turned them upside down and they cleared just fine and everything fit beatifully. oh n i was also running the skunk 2 pro series manifold with it. (does ne body know if you can buy replacement lines that go from the rail to the sprayer? one of mine got broke when i was pulling the motor out of my rex https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

bigbadboy 10-03-2007 07:27 PM

awesome. let me know how it goes and more pics
