Number 3 cylinder is gone..from my boosted B16
Guys I 've posted a post last sunday about my turbo throwing oil out of the compressor side right where it is supposed to suck air.
2 days later engine started working on 3 cyl, I did e comp test and there is no compression at all on the 3rd one.
I also had a problem with my oilpan gasket that I've changed 3 times in 2 weeks that start leaking oil and when I change it it's always torn...
Now my mechanic is telling me that I most probably had under pressure in my oilpan cause of blow by which causes that my oil pan gaskets didn't last 3 days and also that most probably filled the oildrain which made it impossible for the returning of the oil to the oilpan, which causes the oil throwing out of the turbo..
I alsi had my pcv on for a week running on boost before I removed it,
Now I wanted a few personal opinions of all the masterbrains here on the forum specialy the ones boosting honda's.

Re: Number 3 cylinder is gone..from my boosted B16 (luly-rast)
oddly enough same thing happenend to me..
I am pretty sure it is because my ring gap was too wide and it didnot help the fact that I only put 150 miles on my motor before I started boosting it..
I know it was my fault , I am the one that built the motor and decided to run that wide of a gap..
blowby is to blame I donot know about running on 3 cylinders, but I do know that my lowend power is completely gone and that this is the reason why..
my suggestion is to get good rings not "Hastings" for me I only have a d16 setup and new pistons will only run 400.00 so I am not totally pissed, but I will tell you I will only use good quality rings from now on and let the engine get at least 500 miles on it before boosting hard..
