The Golden Eagle sandwich plate was designed to work with the stock oil cooler. There is no issues when using the two together

Or you could get an aftermarket cooler then get this adapter:
I have this one (got it from the site below). I also have the golden eagle for the ls/vtec then use this mocal one on top of the GE for the cooler.
"This lightweight, compact high flow sandwich plate incorporates a 180 deg. F thermostat to regulate oil flow to the cooler until the engine is properly warmed up. 1 5/16" thick with 1/2" NPT female ports."
Site: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/index.html --> Click on mocal products in the left hand column.

You could get very similar plates from ebay, check this out $38 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

Just FYI, if the oil is captured from the oustide of these plates, that means it is unfiltered. The filtered oil runs through the center of ANY sandwich plate. The GE plate uses filtered oil so no contaminents will damage turbo's, gauges, sensors, etc. If your plate's ports do not intersect with the center post of the plate, then you have unfiltered oil. Just thought I would remind everyone.

That plate serves a completely different purpose than your GE plate.

The one you posted is for an oil cooler loop, the GE one is simply for gauges or feeding a head or turbo fresh oil. Two totally different ptoducts.

Well it works for me...maybe that's because I'm using the GE for my head/turbo and the Mocal one for the oil cooler haha
But now I'm confused and missing the point of stating they are different since we already knew that. He wanted a sandwhich plate that would work for an oil cooler....the one I posted does just that.
Also to go back to his original question, the one I posted also has it's own bolt that comes with it. So all you do is spin it on the current bolt out of the block and then you can attach the oil filter to the Mocal plate.
