not too happy with dyno 220 hp B18C1 turbo
stats
b18c1 us spec
max rev turbo manifold and 2.5 downpipe
t3/t4 57 trim .63 ar turbo
450 dsm's
V-AFC hack
skunk 2 IM
3inch exhaust streight through
my TPS and Vtec oil pressure cel were coming on but it seemed like they where coming on for no reason, vtec still worked, but I would either run lean or rich when the check engine light came on.
I dynoed with a p72 ECU
at 7 psi
my compression in the engine was good
any ideas why my numbers are so low?
any advice welcome.
and yes I know I need to fix my check engine light, but there were not coming on till the end of the pull. so i dont knwo how much o an effect they had on my numbers
thanks

Sounds like you're having other issues.. get those fixed first then worry about dyno'ing your car. My friend pulled 194whp on a smaller T3 @ 9psi on a stock D16Y8.. I'd say you should be pleanty higher with a T3/T4 of that size on a GS-R.

Re: (mopar junkie)
maybe check for boost leaks, also maybe you might want to try activating vtec way early....i have my vtec coming in at 3100 rpms so its on the high lobes when the turbo spools, vtec and boost dont always like to go hand in hand because of the timing map change and fuel increase...its like you have fuel increase for boost at like 3500 or so then all of a sudden there comes another need for change mid way through boost for vtec and everything gets confused...especially with just afc hack and no other type of mgt. to correct everything the right way....its just a thought, it works for my sohc and 60 trim t3...at 6psi i made 205whp...and i run the afc hack...good luck hope u figure out whats up

Re: (RexSiT3)
the tps and vtec thingy lights are coming on because your vafc isnt hooked up right or because there are bad connections in the wires. Id suggest soldering all the connections and rechecking every thing.

Re: (krazy)
How do you know VTEC is engaging? I had an issue on my turbo GSR with that same CEL, and there was a dramatic difference with no VTEC. I wouldnt be surprised if there was a 50hp loss.
Edit - The reason I ask, is without sufficient oil pressure VTEC will NOT engage, and you'll stay on the small cam.

Re: (Strng1dah)
your car should be in limp mode rite now so it running rich as hell
it most likely your vafc is hooked up wrong so check that first
is your vtm signal hooked up

doood solder everything!!!!!make sure theres no loos wires hanging around anywhere, and shrink tube that shie3t I was lazy and just twisted everything together, then for some reason.... why wont my car start? vafc grounded and poped a few fuses. do it right the first time.

what is the VTM signal?
I do not have that hooked up.
it is one of the connections on the VAFC right? I do not have that hooked up.

Re: (nigel)
I have jdm b18c, rc 440's, 3in all the way and hondata and put down 240 w/ a conservative tune. Check the vafc, is the motor swapped, if so check all 3 vtec connections.

Re: (FredoSP)
don't worry I felt horrible when I dynoed my car on the hack. 230whp and 192wtq at 11psi. the hack over fuels very bad and bumps timing so if that is how you set it up you are proabably detonating or flooding the engine either way you won't make power. go hondata that is about the only way. that is what I am being forced to do over winter myself

did you tune the AFC Hack? some people think they can throw -40 across the board and its fine, i found otherwise? it needs quite a bit of tuning.

i doubt that, i dynoed a 98 gsr with greddy kit on 7-8 psi it only put 202 whp with greddy exhaust still running the factory cat, no other mods just intercooled kit

thats just a stupid reply, have you made more power than him? i havent seen you post up any dyno charts. if you arent going to say anythign constructive, then dont post. He knows his dyno wasnt that good, he doesnt need some ***** to tell him weaksauce, especially if you have nothing to back up your 'weaksauce'

Re: not too happy with dyno 220 hp B18C1 turbo (GraphiteAccord)
i dont think 220hp is bad for 7psi on a stock ECU.

go with Hondata... but any stand alone engine management will let you make more power safely.
