Default A not so good xmas nite :(

Well, I dunno what happened tonite, but somehow my manual boostcontroller (wasn't a homedepot one btw) fucked up and the boost spiked to almost 11psi (was like 10 on the afc but it's usually off a lil from the mech. gauge). My CEL was previously on from a prior code 45 for running too rich, but the car was idling funny before the spike anyway so I checked it after the spike....

it was throwing 4 CELs (electronic load detector, primary o2, secondary o2, and vehicle speed sensor). My a/f gauge went dead (stuck in green) and my speedometer, fuel and temp gauge also don't work. I reset the ECU and it only threw electronic load detector, primary o2, and secondary o2 this time after starting it up. I was out trying to dial in a good boost level when it happened (btw a mile before it held 8psi FINE) and was at my aunt's house so I limped it home and parked it. On the way home the a/f gauge started working but barely. Only one or two LEDs would light up and it would go from all the way red at 0 throttle to all the way green at any throttle % over 0. the motor seemed sound, no smoke, drove fine. It was too dark to check the plugs, fuses, etc. but there were no loose vacuum lines or anything.

It's pissed me off though. I don't see how the car could throw an ELD code because of a boost spike. The o2's i thought maybe somehow i fried them but the ELD and malfunctionioning speedo don't seem to make sense. Like i said before tomorrow i'm going to check all the fuses, etc and pray that that's all it is. Anyone have an idea how a boost spike coulda caused this? btw the car in question is a 00 civic ex d16y8 t3 turbo, etc and the afc hack (dsm 450's+resistorbox+afc). Any help would be appreciated... I feel tomorrow is a big day ahead

dont know if this will help - but i have seen an the codes for

eld (if the vss 7.5a fuse is blown - it will cause the speedo to not function)
primary 02
secondary 02

all (at the same time) come from an alternator going bad (not charging correctly)...

hrm thanks for that info it makes a lil sense no. i never knew how to link the ELD and the VSS. The o2's I'm not sure about at all and the alternator i'm sure is in working order. hopefully it's not something complicated to fix. Thanks

I had the EXACT same problem when my o2 sensor wires crossed each other, my tach, speedo, and battery died as well. Get those o2 wires figured out and change the fuse. It should do it for you.

I'm almost certain the 7.5amp fuse for your alt/vss circuit is broken. That fuse is going to be in the dash, not the underhood fuse box.

i got the pos working. it blew a fuse... suprisingly... EVERYTHING works now... i never doubted that the fuse blew, but i don't see how and why it blow would because of a boost spike. oh well
