Ran into this guy, think his name was Joe? on our road trip to San Diego from Florida. Check out the bike:

I don't think he was running over 10psi. He had like 8:1 wiseco slugs - think he even said he had a different crank. Said it ran pretty good, but since it's carb'd it had some issues at low RPMs, but would take off after that. All tuning was done by the butt dyno - keep in mind this was in some one horse town in texas - can't remember the name - stopped to get gas and beer

I wonder what it feels like to blow a motor that's sitting between your legs...
I remember the sounds that my car made when I threw a rod, and I'm very glad I wasn't sitting atop the motor when it happened...
Very cool tho.

Sounds to me like he needs to figure out that the carb belongs between the compressor and the engine...

I think this was in Benson, TX. There was nothing for 200mi in any direction except this place. Boy did it suck.
He said the whole bottom end was built. Stock cams for less overlap (due to turbo), etc. He actually knows what the hell he's doing. He built it in his spare time with the guys that he works with in some car shop.
I think I also remember him saying it was around 10lbs of boost or thereabouts. He revs it out past 12k ("about this much past 12 grand") which is past the redline on the tach.
He was saying that for his next project, he wants to do something with fuel injection. I think it's pretty cool that little podunk towns have people like this in them. He stopped to talk because he saw my bike in the back of the moving truck (I was back there making sure my baby was alright) -- they don't have sportbikes around there.
---edit---
Also, the carb can go before or after the compressor. Either way, it won't work as well as FI for obvious reasons. Depending on configuration, the carb needs certain modifications to work correctly. This guy obviously knows what he's doing, so whatever his recipe was, it works. The bike sounded like it ran fine. He had it idling a little high to compensate for super low RPM problems. Besides, who runs a bike below 4k RPM anyway? It doesn't matter if it's a cruiser or a sportbike.
