Default Is This Normal? (D16 cylinder imperfection?)

I tore down my D16z6 this past weekend because I plan on building the block for boost. I noticed that there was some sort of indentation and was wondering if this was normal for a D-series block? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't worry about it, both my Y8 blocks had that.

its not normal, but it shouldnt affect the seal of the gasket as long as its properly torque'd and the surface is even

That was just how Honda molded those blocks. .nothing to be worried. You say that you were building for boost , get the block sleeved and you would be a happy man .

Sleeving the block is not necessary for my power goals.
