Noob, sorry but I can't find anything concrete after almost 2hours of searching CFM While in boost?
I was doing the math of a very mild boost setup. 6-7psi. Using a TD05H - 14B with a pressure ratio of 1.5 or so (info taken from compressor map at around 50,000 rpm the turbo will have to spool at I believe)
I used the following formula instead of the cubic centimeters formula, I think the results are the same though right?
My base CFM stock is = Engine displacement (2.3L approx.) x RPM (6500 at wot) / 2 x .03531 = 285 CFM is flowed on a stock 2.3 L H motor at wot.
So In order to achieve a 6psi boost continiously at wot, I multiply the 285 cfm x PR (1.5) and my CFM under boost equals 426 CFM. Does this mean that My turbo only needs to flow the difference of the two (140 CFM) or does it have to flow the entire 426 CFM?
Thanks in advance. Please don't flame too hard, I'm trying to understand the physics/math behind the turbo b4 I begin building it in the spring. That and I have to wait for the funds to finish buying all the parts for a dsm turbo.

to sum up your question: is a TD05-14B big enough to support 6-7PSI on your setup efficiently? is that the question?
whats your setup? The motor and its displacement and any mods that would affect displacement or flow. with those questions answered you may get an answer, but not from me I dont know anything about a TD05 just trying to help you shape your question better.

Second, you if you calculate 450cfm, the turbo needs to flow 450cfm.
