the goal for my build 400+ hp for daily driven fun.
shopping list:
supertech pistons 8.8cr
eagle h beam rods
acl bearing all around
stock ls crank.

i am researching for now. im reseaching fully build ls head or a build vtec head.

money isnt an issue, just patients of waiting for it. i dont have a car for this engine so im taking my time. learning as i go.

i'd find some pistons with more compression. that is gonna suck to drive out of boost.

Nowadays, people are running only 9.5:1 or higher. There is absolutely no sense in going lower than that. Static compression depends on the fuel you plan to run...if you're on e85 or race gas, you could even go 11+:1 if you wanted.

The biggest thing in this project is to research, ask questions, and be open to people's advice/opinions; however, you need to be knowledgable enough on your own to decipher fact from bullshit. Good luck

PS: I edited your title...LS-Vtec rather than LS-tech

picked up a couple parts: JE 9.7 c/r pistons, eagle H rods, ACL bearing.

still need one or two things then off they go for balancing.

found a db1 integra on craigslist~
looks like i have a chassis for this engine build. good thing about the car is all the miscellaneous parts needed are there. car needs a cheap clutch to get me by till the swap.

parts list so far.
gsr head
skunk2 intake manifold... came with head
ls block
eagle H beams
je 9.5 c/r pistons
acl bearings
ARP hardware
stock flywheel

waiting to get home to send the bottom end to the shop for balancing.
~ im searching for information on what ecu to start with. since my build is going to staging, can i run a stock p72 with lower c/r then a stock gsr?

I would keep the main bolts OEM and stay away from arp, unless you wanna spend more money not needed at the machine shop.

arp mains mean you have to line hone the mains... you cannot run arp mains without a line hone, period.

If the engine isn't being broken in on a dyno or on a race track, it isn't being broken in optimally. 50 miles is all it takes to break in (or break) an engine, and if you don't push it hard, your rings won't fully seat. You'll never see the full potential of your motor.
