Hey guys here is the lowdown,

I was thinking of boosting my ex coupe. Its my daily driver, so it would need to be something reasonable so I can still drive it everday. Its a civic ex coupe, 00, with 80k miles on engine and tranny. What kinda turbo could I run, and how much boost. I assumed 6-8 would be fine with stock internals, and a decent sized turbo could be ran. T3/T4 hybrid or such. Im new with turbos and things of that nature, so do you guys have any good websites or things of that nature to buy turbo parts or brand names that are real good? Thanks in advanced for your help.

How deep are your pockets?
Do you want to buy a kit or piece one together yourself?
Do you want a warranty you can trust?
Manual or Auto?
Are you in a state with Emissions testing?
Where do you want your power in the band?

Not sure about the pockets. I wasnt sure how much it would cost to get something good and reliable. Im not real familiar with this stuff, so a kit or someone knowledgable helping me piece something together would be great. I have a manual, turboing a auto pffttt! Thats a crazy idea!!!!!!! Emmisions isnt even an issue and never will be. I would looking at having "reliable power", whatever kinda numbers that would generate. I assumed that would be about 200 whp and still remain reliable.

Well, if you have some cash to spend I'm quite partial to the Edlebrock kit for first time users, it literally has everything you'll need except proper HT style fuel management (Crome, Neptune, Hondata, etc). And it's AC Friendly!

3k is retardly high for a turbo kit tho, pockets aint that deep!

This project is still gonna cost you around $2K by the time your done, so be prepared. There is a LOT of little things, tons of fittings, hoses and **** you don't think about, and they are expensive.

On a SOHC, I think a t3/t4 50 trim, with a .48 exhaust housing will make you happy. Others are gonna tell you to maybe get a larger exhaust housing but trust me, you'll be happier with the smaller one as it will spool up quicker and give you more midrange power (torque) which equals a more fun daily driven car. It will still blast down the drag strip too. These turbos can be found for around $500 new, or cheaper used.

If you want to go baller, the GT28R (disco Potato) is an awesome turbo. It spools retartedly quick but this turbo is rather costly, $900 new, $700ish used.
