thinking of hooking my bottle of NX up to my 96 GTI VR6. I probably won't go over a 60 shot. I've got a set of colder plugs, and Aurora Ignition wires. Do you think i would need much else? anyone used n20 on a VR6 before. Can't seem to find to many volkswagon boards help me out guys

The first thing you want to do to a vw if you are going to drag race it is a Diff. The last thing you want is to blow your tranny, but besides that those vr6 motors can handle lots of abuse on the bottle.

a guy from NYC came down the my area about this time last year, he had a fully built Passat VR6 engine in his Golf, everything was done, looked STOCK as ****, Haltech standalone with the digtal handheld readout, EVERYTHINg was done to this car, had a 150 shot i think, may have been more, i watched this guy do a 5th gear DOWNHILL, ROLLING START burnout, it was ******* INSANE... pulled otu a dyno sheet, 450+whp (can't remember the exact number), he ran the 1/4 in the 10s, i swear, he pulled the sheets out of his glovebox and showed some of us

hell yes, hook the bottle to that thing

MSD window switch. The problem with wet kits is if you spray at too low a RPM there is a tendency for fuel/nitrous mix to puddle in the intake manifold. When this ignites you get a phenomenon known as a "nitrous backfire" ... look that up on Google. I have heard of intakes been blown apart, the motors head getting wrecked, etc.

With a window switch you can set an RPM to start spraying at, and stop spraying. This will also help avoid spraying nitrous before you hit the rev limiter ... causing a lean condition and *boom*.

You set the start and stop RPM with "pills" on the window switch. On an Integra GS-R the start pill is typically 3-4k and the stop pill is 7k.

BTW ... your GTI will haul *** with a NX setup at 60 shot.

EVIL </TD></TR></TABLE>well, you only need diff when running slicks for teh most part or if you got dumb power, but a gti with a 75 shot should be ok w/o slicks, if you wanna know vr6 good, contact some of the gtrmotorsports.net guys, they have 10, 11, and 12 second vr6's, and the 10 second one is on stock block

I used to hang out with the GTR crew, so I do know if a vw needs a diff or not buddy. If you street race, autorcross or drag race, and you drive your car hard, the tranny won't last more than a month. Ask my buddy xxx008xxx, he just registered on this board too. His all motor golf is going 13.0 @102 currently. As a matter of fact ask the GTR guys themselfes, they all run diffs in their cars.
