Nippon turbo pistons?

Nippon turbo pistons?
I'm doing a budget build and instead of spending 400$ on a set of forged pistons, I thought about going with Nippon turbo pistons. Any body have any luck with these pistons? I'm wanting to achieve around 400whp with a b16.
Going to run eagle rods and supertech block guard and stock head with skunk 2 valve train. What do you guys think? Should I buy these or spend a couple hundred more dollars for arias?

Re: Nippon turbo pistons?
e85 can be bought by the 22 gallon drum and you will have e85 it can be shipped to your door step also lol
if you hve staions that typically carry e85 in other states then you can also get it delivered to that station as well.
stock blocks can handle 500+ with a good tuner tuning it the myths need to be busted oh wait they already have been lol.

i would trust a set of brand new pistons, regardless of manufacturer, with a nice set of new bearings anyday, just my 2 cents. Yeah we all know that certain setups out there make great power as I have a 537hp stock bottom end. But where he lives they may not have the capabilities to do such.
I would do a new set on a spare block just have as a backup incase the oem's took a dump

I heard you can get some 5 or 10 gallon drums from a gas station, Walmart, or Autozone, then go to a station that has E85. They just happen to have these easy-to-use electrical pumps that you can fill the drums with of the precious fuel. You can even put the fuel directly into the car!!!
(Pssst.. little secret.. E85 is not race fuel, so there's no practical reason to put them in drums.)

Re: Nippon turbo pistons?
Detonation/preignition, whatever you want to call it, is what kills pistons. Forged can just take more abuse. They're stronger and transfer heat better so they run cooler. Otherwise cast are sometimes considered better since they are low expansion. Forged expand a little bit more so the piston to wall clearance has to be left a bit looser.
I don't know about other brands, but SRP (JE shelf pistons) are low expansion alloy. And JE (the custom made) pistons are higher expansion. The higher expansion alloy is supposedly stronger. I went with the SRP since they're plenty strong and... cheaper.
(There are many good brands, I was just recommended Wiseco or JE from the start, so I mostly looked at those two. CP and others are good also)

Re: Nippon turbo pistons?
We have Used Nippon Brand Pr4 LS and P72 USDM GSR pistons on a few budget build turbo B16's. My daily driven B16 has been running 18 psi on 91 octane at about 400 WHP for 2+ years now. No problems
