Ninjas: Options for a 76mm (1mm over) headgasket?
I'm thinking about trying the Vitara pistons in the .040" (1mm) oversized model on a spare Y8 block I'd like to do a stock sleeve build on. I'd like to see what these pistons can really do (300whp+).
My question is: what are my headgasket options? Cometic? OEM, and bore it?
Let me know, thanks in advance

bump!
Also, for those of you running 75.5mm pistons on your built SOHC, what HG are you running? OEM, bored out?

With my 75.5mm bore I run the stock OEM gasket, not bored out. For .5mm over it's not necessary to bore out the stock gasket at all.

actually i just searched for a pic and they're not THAT bad. for some reason i remember them just having a really basic dish with a thin rim around the edge of the crown...

I'm actually looking at 75.5mm Nippon "turbo" pistons, the ones that have a full floating pin design so they can work with Eagle/Tuner Toys rods.
Don't hate. it's Operation: 4 Cheap.

Nobody bores a head gasket for a .5mm increase in diameter. Remember, that equates to a .25mm increase in radius - you won't even be able to see that when you line up the gasket with the block.
